As latest reports would have it, Chinese smartphone manufacturers, Xiaomi has been discovered to be pretty occupied with the promotion of its in-house Pinecone processor that is due to be unveiled at the company’s event on the 28th of March.
The Chinese company has reportedly released a video that doesn’t show any chipset but instead features a Chinese mnemonist, who was seen memorising a different set of numbers and seems to tip prowess of the upcoming Pinecone processor.
According to one recent report, the Chinese company will be releasing its Pinecone V670 processor very soon. Going by the leaked details, the V670 will be an octa-core processor coupled with four high-frequency Cortex-A53 cores and four Cortex-A53 low-powered cores.
The report also reveals that the Pinecone V670 processor will be built on a 28nm process and will also feature an ARM Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. Aside from the Pinecone V670 processor, Xiaomi has also reportedly claimed to currently working on a high-end Pinecone V790 processor that is likely to launch later this year.
The Chinese company is also reportedly working hand-in-hand with Samsung for the Pinecone V970 SoC and is being designed on a 10nm process.
The Pinecone processor is widely expected to roll out with the company’s upcoming Mi 5c handset that has been making rounds on the Internet.
Based on Xiaomi’s official invite, the Pinecone processor announcement event will commence at 2 pm China time (11:30 am IST) on Tuesday, to be held at Beijing National Convention Center. As far as we know, there is no word whether the event will be live streamed by the company.
