Xiaomi Redmi 5A With ‘8-Day Battery Life’, Snapdragon 425 Launched: Price, Pre-Orders, and Specifications

Handset manufacturers are still going strong with the release of innovative smartphone devices and Xiaomi comes bringing a new Redmi 5A handset.

Notably, the handset is expected to be the successor to the Redmi 4A device that was released sometime back. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A has been launched in the company’s home market, and we are not sure if the handset will be made available in other consumer markets.

Sporting a metal-like matte texture design, the new handset highlights a battery, that the company claims can deliver eight days of power usage.

Like its predecessor, the MIUI 9-based smartphones does not have a fingerprint sensor, but sports some design changes, such as rounded corners for a comfortable grip.

The new handset comes priced at CNY 599 – to available via the company’s official site including other popular e-commerce sites in China.

Coming to specs, the handset comes with a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display tagged with a pixel density of 296ppi.

The handset is powered the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, clocked at 1.4GHz, and paired with 2GB of RAM speed, much like its predecessor.

Talking about storage variants, the handset rolls out in only one storage option as showcased by the company. However, we might see other variants launched by the company later.

In the camera department, the device comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera tagged with f/2.2 aperture and at the front brings a 5-megapixel front camera paired with f/2.0 aperture lens. It also comes with support 1080p and 720p video recording.

It comes with a 16GB internal memory space with an option to expand via microSD card (up to 128GB). The handset houses a 3000mAh battery which is clearly a downgrade compared to the Redmi 4A device.

Talking about connectivity options, it brings 4G VoLTE, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.
The Redmi 5A is said to run MIUI 9 automatically means that the mobile phone will feature all bells and whistles of the new MIUI version.
