Chinese manufacturer Vivo is a known brand domestically and continues to make efforts to widen its image on the international scene. Vivo always ensures its product quality hit the mark and has led to the creation of top-notch devices including the Vivo X-Play 5 that became the first device in the world with 6GB RAM, Vivo X6/X6 Plus and X7 which was launched in the period between the spring and the summer.
These have surged high the rankings of the brand, as recorded by research firms IDC and TrendForce. The table measures the highest number of phone shipments and Vivo can be seen alongside market topper Huawei and OPPO. Surprisingly, Vivo broke into the top three tier through its aggressive phone sales using offline sales channels.
Anthony Scarsella, Research Manager with IDC’s Mobile Phone team said, “Outside of China, many of these brands are virtually unknown and the ability of these rapidly growing Chinese vendors to gain entry into mature markets such as the United States and Western Europe will be essential if they have aspirations of catching Apple or Samsung at the top. Huawei has proven that it can sell increasingly premium devices.”
According to a Weibo user that goes by the name Sun Changxu, the company is expected to gross a total of 70 million in phone shipments this year. The data was extrapolated on the number of shipments of the manufacturer which was first predicted to reach 90-100 million devices. But due to unforeseen circumstances, the expected count dropped making Vivo readjust the target.
Industry analyst Pan Juitang further stated that the top three, Vivo, OPPO, and Huawei are all expected to launch new smartphones by the end of October to crown up their sales for 2016.
