Top 6 Free League of Legends Android Apps

Since its release in 2009, Riot Games’ League of Legends has gained a massive fan-following throughout the world. Today, the online PvP game boasts millions of players logging in everyday. The main reasons behind League of Legends’ success include an addictive formula, stunning artwork, creative game design, a wide variety of champions (player characters) to choose from and the countless in-game mechanics which keep bringing players back for more. If you are a LoL fan and can’t get enough of it on your PC, here are a few apps that you can install on your Android device to get a dose of your favorite game on the move.

LoL Messenger

Want a League of Legends chat client for Android? LoL Messenger solves your problem and lets you stay in touch with your friends and buddies on the go. It is a full fledged messenger, allowing you to send friend requests and view recent game stats, runes and masteries.

The chat client works with official LOL servers only though, but messages are delivered promptly and there are no major issues with the app. So if you want to catch up with your LOL buddies using your Android device, download and try LoL Messenger.

MobaDroid League of Legends

This is a must-have app for any LoL fanatic. It allows you to check server status for your region, set Jungle timers, browse all the items and every champion available in League of Legends. The app is regularly updated to include the latest champions, and the champion browser allows you to select a champion and then browse through related Mobafire, Solomid and LolPro guides. You can also read about the champion’s abilities and stats, alongside finding out counters for him/her.

The free app has ads, but it is very much functional and can be extremely helpful for you, whether you are a LoL beginner or a veteran.

League of Legends Champions

Similar to MobaDroid, Champions is also a very useful app for LoL players. The app main menu allows you to check the free champion rotation for the week alongside any champions or items currently on sale at the store. The app also lets you read the latest patch notes for the game, which are important to find out the things that have changed with the latest updates.

The Champion browser lets you select any champion and then view his/her complete stats, abilities, read the lore and browse through the available skins. Moreover, when you open up a champion’s abilities tab, you can not only read about his/her abilities but also watch a direct video by tapping on the ability’s icon.

If you like the app on Facebook, you get a free ticket to that week’s lucky draw. You also get a chance to win one of the two $10 RP prizes every week by tapping on the hidden champion in the champion browser. Given how RP is important to unlock skins and other goodies, the lucky draw feature is a major attraction for this app.

Twitch is not technically a League of Legends app, but is exceedingly useful for LoL players. The Twitch app basically allows you to watch live streams from a variety of different online games, including World of Tanks, Street Fighter, Call of Duty and League of Legends, directly on your Android device. There are tons of channels for LoL, and it is very likely that your favorite player’s channel is being streamed live at some point during the day.

The streams run smooth and you can choose between high, medium and low quality, depending on your bandwidth. Given how popular a practice it is for LoL players to watch streams from some of the world’s best players, this app is extremely useful and convenient.

LOL Strategy League of Legends

If you’re a regular LOL player you’re going to find this app very useful. It gives you access to match records, champion info (including spotlight videos, skins, sounds and counter picks), details on items, spells and masteries. The app runs smooth, doesn’t have any major bugs or issues either, making it the perfect League of Legends companion app for your Android devices.

LoL Spy – League of Legends

LoL Spy is another companion app, not only giving you information about champions, spells, skins (including prices) and counters, but also providing real-time stats for both ranked and unranked games. This is another app you should try if you’re into League of Legends.

Wouldn’t recommend moba droid since the app is currently not working. So far people who use it in the past have complained about it

    Hey Hunain,

Very informative article! Have you noticed LOLSUMO yet? It’s a new app aimed at the casual and less experienced majority of League of Legends players. Key features are automatic item build generation and contextual tips towards the exact matchup you are currently playing. The app fits a niche that I think is currently not represented in this list.

If you have any questions about it, I’d love to chat with you!
