Hi guys, we’re back with another awesome list and today we’re going to be looking at some of the best online games for Android that you can play in 2016 even.
While almost all new Android games require internet connectivity, when we say ‘online games’ we are talking about multiplayer games that use the internet. Just remember though, most multiplayer games on Android are not exactly as real-time as PC multiplayer games. But since they’re still tons of fun, here we go.
#1. 8 Ball Pool
Who doesn’t like 8 ball, especially if you can be a pro at it without ever wielding a real stick (and needing actual skills)? Well, 8 Ball Pool lets you be just that, right after you beat every opponent on your way to becoming the king of it table.
Jokes apart, the game is a lot of fun, the multiplayer matchmaking is very smooth and fast and there are just about enough unlockables in the game to keep you hooked for a very, very long time.
Leaderboards, weekly rankings and prizes, small side-games and in-app purchases are all there. But you don’t really need to spend actual cash to be good at the game. Just get those angles right, pot your balls and you’re good to go. Time will go by so fast you won’t even know.
Okay, I am a little biased towards this game personally, but trust me this is one of the simplest games, but offers great strategic depth which makes for a no-frills gameplay that delivers hours of engaging fun. The online multiplayer component also works very well even tough the number of players online is not very high.

The game is also a great time pass in single player mode and will have you cursing and swearing as you realize that the surefire victory you were working towards for the last 8 minutes is going to be foiled by one wrong move.
#3. Shadowgun: DeadZone
Shadowgun: DeadZone is going to remind you of the grungy sci-fi shooter Gears of War, and looks just as good as any PC or console title on your Android phone or tablet. If you’re a fan of shooters, this is definitely one that will demand your attention and time.
While the online multiplayer has bugs, connectivity and mismatching issues, it’s still fun with up to 12 players in standard death matches. If nothing else, you’re going to love how the game look at the very least.
#4. Words with Friends
Board games are multi-player titles of the past and were always fun with a couple of friends. Translate that to modern technology and you have board games on your phones and tablets that you can play with friends from around the world with a simple internet connection.
Words with Friends is like social-scrabble-online-with-friends and works fairly well, is very enjoyable and can present a real challenge if you’re up against experienced players. The game itself has some performance issues we experienced, but its still worth keeping if you enjoy the core game.
#5. Bowling King
Developed by Miniclip, the guys who gave us 8 Ball Pool and several other addictive games, Bowling King is a relatively new title with players growing every week. As the name suggests, it’s all about bowling and the game features good graphics and the same bonus games, upgrades and unlocks as its pool counterpart.
The game itself has a fair bit of challenge, because you use your phone to maneuver the bowling balls on the alley. Multiplayer is quick and matchmaking is fair. If you’re lucky, you can even win a couple of weekly leaderboard contests because there aren’t as many players in the game as 8 Ball Pool as yet.
Loading times can be a bit annoying at times, but overall the game is a lot of fun and nothing feels quite like a six bagger.
Well, these were some of the top online multiplayer games available for Android phones and tablets and we hope you’ll love trying all of them. If there are any games you’d like to suggest, please feel free to comment below.
