When it comes to gaming, you can’t deny that endless runners are addictive and great time-killers with the right mix of skill and challenge. Good endless runners like Temple Run have literally millions of downloads and even spawn their own series.
If you’re an Android gamer looking for some great free endless runner games to download, you’ll like our top 10 selection.
We have taken care to include those games which can also run on mid-range and in some cases, low-range Android phones. So even if you have a low-range Android phone or tablet, if you like any of the games listed below, just download them (they’re all free) and give them a go. Moreover, if you’re interested in playing games on your PC, you can also check out these browser based running games.
#1. Subway Surfers
Subway Surfers isn’t a new title, but is definitely one of the most (if not the most) popular endless runners on Android and is free to download. The graphics look great even on large, 5 inch plus displays and the game runs smooth with simple, intuitive controls. Your mission is to continue running, dodging trains and collecting coins as you travel around the world thanks to regular mission updates.
The latest update is the World Tour Arabia, with a new character named Amira. Check out the video below for a trailer and download the game for free using the link below.
#2. Temple Run 2
We’re going to forego the original Temple Run and instead go with Temple Run 2 which improves on the first and adds more characters, new powerups, more achievements and a graphical overhaul. The game is a lot of fun and you can literally kill hours on it without realizing. However, it may lag a little on low-end Android phones, but is definitely worth a try, especially if you liked the original.
#3. Despicable Me – Minion Rush
If you watched the animated Despicable Me movies you can’t possibly not miss the adorable minions, and you’re going to love Despicable Me Minion Rush. Developed by Gameloft, this endless runner has you playing as a minion and going through familiar locations like Gru’s lab as you collect coins and avoid obstacles by jumping and rolling.
The game is a lot of fun and works well even on low-end Android devices. While it’s a free download, it does have in-app purchases which you’ll need to make if you want extra lives during a run or need just one more chance to break your own record.
#4. Sonic Dash
Those of you who were playing games back in the 90s have probably spent hours playing Sonic the Hedgehog and now Sega brings Sonic Dash to Android phones and tablets. The free game will bring back fond memories as you dash and roll your way to speed, jump over spikes and gather golden rings (all the while familiar music plays in the background).
The game also has in-app purchases and you can pick other familiar Sonic characters like Tails and Knuckles to play with. Sega has also done a great job with the graphics and we highly recommend Sonic Dash.
#5. Vector
Vector isn’t technically the same type of endless runner as the ones listed above, but is one of the best games out there. As opposed to the top-down 3rd person view, you get a 2D side-scroller which focuses on free-running as one guy tries to break free from what appears to be symbolic corporate slavery.
The game’s graphics are minimal yet gorgeous and the animations, when timed properly, give you an adrenaline rush coupled with the background music.
#6. Agent Dash
Fancy playing James Bond 007? Well Agent Dash is the closest you may get when it comes to endless runners. A free game with lovely visuals and great controls, Agent Dash has you playing a spy whose mission is infiltrate and destroy enemy basis.

You can unlock new characters and even play as a tiger as you progress and try reaching the top of the leaderboards. Overall, if you’re a fan of Temple Run, you should try Gameloft’s Danger Dash.
#9. Zombie Run HD
Another Temple Run inspired endless runner, Zombie Run has a lot of characters you can unlock, very simple controls and nice graphics to keep you hooked. The background music and sound effects are a bit lacking though, but for a free game Zombie Run provides good entertainment for endless runner fans.
#10. TheEndApp
The world has come to an end and you need to run, collect duct tape and material you need to survive. TheEndApp is an old game but is still one of the better ones out there in terms of gameplay, sound effects and graphics. You get over 100 different levels to play from and both swipe and tilt controls. Overall TheEndApp deserves a download if you’re into endless runners.
