Sony Sends out MWC 2017 Invites, Two MediaTek Smartphones Expected

After so many rumors and speculations, hinting on Sony’s plan to unveil its next generation flagship, it seems as though the Company is finally ready to make its move.

According to one latest report, Sony is getting set to announce its next smartphone device at the Mobile World Congress that due to occur in Barcelona next month. The company has been reportedly discovered to have sent out invitation cards for its press event set for February 27 where it is expected to make an official announcement concerning it next generation flagship.

Last year at the MWC, Sony was reportedly cited to have introduced Xperia X, X Performance, and XA handsets – trio of mobile phones under the new X family. In line with this, the company is expected to announce exactly when it is planning to roll out updates to these devices this year.

According to one report, Sony is currently working on two new smartphones, to be powered by MediaTek processors. Even though these were just recently spotted, many are suggesting there’s a high probability we might see them in a vivid picture at MWC 2017.

The smartphone devices are expected to be powered by Helio P20 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The handsets will likely run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Also, both devices come with a 23MP rear camera and a 16MP camera. The smartphones are also expected to offer a 1080p full HD display.
As of now, Sony is still yet to confirm this news, and for that reason, we advise you to take this information with a pinch of salt.
