Back in January, Samsung rolled out the official Nougat update to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices, and now, has also started pushing out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones as well – this also includes users in India.
While the update took a long time before seeing a wide roll out, it does come with a host of changes to the platform including the April 2017 security patch as well.
Users from India are now reporting that their Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge handsets have started receiving the update, with build versions G920IDVU3FQD1 and G925IDVU3FQD1 respectively.
The size of the Android 7.0 Nougat update for both devices is said to be 1235.04MB and 1247.36MB respectively.
Further, the update rolls out with improvements to notifications as well as Quick settings button.
What’s more, it also brings improvements to multi-window and space management efficiency for installation of downloaded applications. According to the company, the update enhances the speed of system upgrade and application installation as well.
The latest update also brings bug fixes, overall performance improvement and a Game Launcher application. With this new update, users now get a blue light filter and a high-performance mode that increases the display brightness, much like the one seen on the S7 device.
The Android 7.0 Nougat rollout seems to have just begun and more users are expected to receive the update in the next coming days.
