Amongst Huawei’s many devices this year, the Mate 9 seems to be the best and is set to be unveiled in November 2016. Recently, the smartphone was spotted on benchmarking site GFX Bench and now, more images have popped out revealing details of the Mate 9.
From the images, it can be seen that the new flagship will feature an all metal design with dual cameras at the rear, no mention about Leica yet, but since their partnership was strengthened it would not be a surprise if Leica is given license to have a hand in the camera department.
Possibly, there might be a Laser Focus setup with dual cameras and a rear placed fingerprint sensor. Another feature is the seven colour variants the phone will sport as it was revealed on Weibo.
Based on earlier reports, the Huawei Mate 9 will come with a 5.9” display having an unsatisfactory resolution of 1080pixels. The flagship device features a 2.6GHz Octa-core HiSilicon Hi3660 chipset with Mali-T880 GPU.
The Hi3660 chipset is what suggests that the phone might be of the new generation, compared to previous models like the Kirin 920 SN Hi3630, 930 SN Hi3635, and Kirin 955 SN Hi3650, so the Hi3660 is likely to be a new higher chipset.
The device will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, along with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The listing also has it that the Mate 9 will sport a 20MP dual camera with OIS.
So, it looks like the Mate 9 is going to be a powerful flagship. Considering the usual release period, we expect more details to pop out soon.
