As we have reported earlier, Samsung’s edge display will be the highlight on most phones being launched this year, especially those from China. With reports showing what would supposedly be a curved display featured on the Vivo X Play 5, Vivo might be the first from China to launch a device with the said display but they certainly won’t be last as the list is expected to grow as OEMs like Xiaomi and Huawei are yet to release theirs.
Admirers of the Meizu brand were expecting, at least, one variant of the smartphones to be released by the Chinese company would feature Samsung’s curved display technology — possibly the Pro 6.
A few renders have popped up -reportedly fan made- showing what is supposedly the Meizu Pro 6 with an elegantly curved screen display. Meizu added a little spin to their display design. Unlike those featured on the Galaxy Edge series, the Pro 6 might just be that phone with no exposed bezels by having curves on all found sides of the screen and only leaving the corners to give the screen some kind of protection upon impact.
The front of the phone gives resemblance to that of a Samsung Galaxy smartphone showcasing what looks like a physical home button. Previous rumors pointed to a force touch display and the device is supposedly said to be powered by the Exynos 8890 from Samsung.
Other notable features include a USB Type-C and also what appears to be speakers on either side of the port over what looks a metallic frame.
Not much is known about the upcoming devices from Meizu and the Chinese OEM has gone to great lengths to keep its work on the Meizu Pro 6 a secret. however, since the launch date isn’t too far off (given Meizu’s track record) we should be hearing more regards the handset in the nearer future…so stay tuned to TDR.
