If you think you’ve seen it all with the bezel-less foldable displays – think again! Samsung has just announced the world’s first smart knife, the Samsung Galaxy BLADE edge. It’s what they’re calling the “ultimate cooking companion” for the “modern chef”.
According to the company, they will now be translating their technical expertise into the culinary industry and the Galaxy BLADE edge will not only run the latest software, it will also come with an edge so sharp that it will be able to cut food items with the best of knives.
This is made possible by the diamond-cut finishing the BLADE edge has received which makes it sharp enough to cut through a variety of food items, including lobsters and tomatoes. Thanks to the ceramic body treatment, the knife is also quite tough but relatively light.
According to Samsung, the knife’s surface tension has also been revolutionized so it’s non-stick, no matter what you cut an dice. If all this wasn’t enough, the BLADE edge smartknife will come with changeable handles and S-Thermometer, which will be exceedingly useful when you want to record the temperature of cooked meat or baked items.
What do you think about the Samsung Galaxy BLADE edge? Will you be getting one yourself? It’s clearly much more productive and useful than an ordinary phone, but our only concern is the smell of food items left on it, which could be irritating when we take calls and bring it close to our face. On the bright side, you can always wash it thoroughly since it’s going to be waterproof as well!
As you may have guessed by now, this is not a real phone/knife and is Samsung’s April Fools’ Joke for 2015. If you want to check out the official post, visit Samsung’s Blog.
