Marshmallow Update To Boost Battery Life Of Smartwearables

The new Marshmallow update for Android devices does come packed with a lot of goodies. Not just support for video and voice messaging for smartwatches but there is an additional feature that extended battery life too. The new battery boost feature is great considering most of the wearables out there come with a small battery. Most smartwatches powered by the Android operating system have feeble battery capabilities (lasting one to two days on a full charge) and with the ever increasing list of new ways to use them, it is only practical that Google added the Doze management feature.

The new energy dispensing management system drastically reduces background activity when the device is not directly being interacted with by the user thereby prolonging the time it requires you to recharge.

The new Android for smartwatches 6.0 updates began reaching smartwatch users about a week ago and already users and app developers alike, are already making use of the new features which also includes gesture control and new upcoming video calling capable apps.

The Nexus line is always expected to be the first to receive any new Android updates but Motorola’s second generation Moto 360 users have already reported receiving the Marshmellow 6.0 update and the Android wear version 1.4.

Other smartwatch brands are expected to follow suit but not all of them will have access to all the features of the new Marshmallow for smartwatches update as some of the features require hardware that is not available in a lot of these devices and it is unclear when the said update will reach them.
