Since your Android phone is your communication hub, your contacts list is important, and fortunately, Android allows all sorts of contacts to be integrated and synced with your phone.
In this guide, we’re simply going to tell you how to sync your Facebook contacts with your Android phone – which
is used to be really really simple till Facebook changed their API and made it virtually impossible to sync contact lists.
Method #1 (May not work now)
Firstly, if you don’t already have the official Facebook app installed on your Android phone, you should download it from the Play Store and install it.
The app will automatically ask you to sync all your Facebook contacts with your existing phone contacts and in a bit (pictures take some time to download) you will start seeing your updated contacts. Just download the Facebook app for Android from the link below to do this.
Method #2 (May not work now)
If you already have the Facebook app installed and missed the syncing step, you can still sync your contacts with your Facebook contacts from your Android phone’s settings menu.
Go to Settings and then look for Accounts & Sync. If you have installed the official Facebook app, you should see it listed under Accounts & Sync along with other services like Google and Skype etc.
Select Facebook from the Accounts options and tap the Sync Contacts option and then Sync Now.
So basically, you follow these steps: Menu>Settings>Accounts & Sync>Facebook>Sync Contacts>Sync Now.
Once done, if you have internet access, your Android phone will download information from your Facebook contacts and merge it with your existing contacts – that’s it, you’re done.
Method #3 (Has limitations)
If you don’t have the Sync option in your Accounts & Sync settings you may need to download an app which can sync your Facebook contacts with your Android phone. While there are several apps that can do this, you should try out UberSync (linked below).
However, Facebook has changed the way syncing works, and now its only possible to sync contacts who also use, or used this app (or other syncing apps like this).

If you’re wondering, you can basically sync any app and its contacts with your Android phone contacts in the same way. This includes Google, Skype and WhatsApp contacts – which are all synced when you install their official apps or sync them manually from the Accounts & Sync settings.
