WhatsApp has an extremely loyal user base across platforms, but Android WhatsApp users have been eagerly waiting for the voice calling feature to roll out for everyone. Well, the wait is over and now you can enable WhatsApp voice calling on your Android phones.
To begin with, you will need to download the latest version of WhatsApp, which at the moment is 2.12.23. You can download it via the official WhatsApp website. The WhatsApp APK File, once downloaded, will need to be installed manually, for which you will need to enable installation from “Unknown Sources” from your Android’s settings.
After you’ve installed WhatsApp, you will be able to see three tabs when you run it – Calls – Chats – Contacts. This means you can now make voice calls directly via your WhatsApp. However, if you don’t want to install the latest version from the official site, you can try downloading the older version of the app from the Play Store link below.
Once you have downloaded the older version from the Play Store, you will need to update it and then ask a contact of yours who has voice calls enabled to give you a call. When you receive a WhatsApp call from a contact, you automatically enable the feature on your own Android phone as well.
Again, after the feature is enabled on your Android, you will be able to see the Calls tab as well, in which you can see your call logs. You will also see a calling icon within your chats to easily make calls via the app.
What do you think about WhatsApp’s calling feature? Will you be using it more than sending instant messages? Share your feedback below and follow us on Google+ for more updates.
