Recently, Huawei made an announcement that the Honor V9 in its Honor branded series will be launched locally in China come February 21st. Back in time, the V9 device was spotted on Chinese certification site TENAA bearing a model number ‘DUK-TL30’ coupled with images revealing the specs and price.
Now, news has it that the phone will be released internationally (US and other markets), but under another name- Honor 8 Pro. According to a Russian website- Hi-Tech, the company will unveil the flagship at the upcoming MWC 2017 alongside the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. The Honor 8 Pro consists of top-notch hardware specs compared to the Honor 8 and Honor 8 Lite that are mid-rangers.
On the international scene, the V9 will be known as 8 Pro boasting the same specs such as a 5.7” display with Quad HD screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Under the hood, there will be a 2.4GHz Kirin 960 octa-core processor with Mali M71 GPU.
Some models of the phone will have 4GB of RAM, and others will have 6GB of RAM. Onboard storage may also vary from 64GB (base model) to 128GB (top notch model), and those amounts can be expanded via a microSD card of up to 128GB.
As far as the camera is a concern, the device is expected to have the 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats whereas on the back side the dual-camera setup is expected to be of 12MP.
The 12MP primary sensor will be joined with another 2MP camera with the possibility of adding more depth in photos and will be powered by a massive battery cell of 3900mAh.
There is far no word yet on the price but the device is expected to launch towards the end of March 2017.
