Essential Phone From Andy Rubin Reportedly Spotted Online

An ad over at Michelin has sprouted a boatload of rumors with regards to an upcoming bezel less handset. This ad shows a new handset which many have given different names. Nonetheless, we have reason to believe that this handset is the much awaited essential smartphone from Andy Rubin, the one who first created Android before Google acquired it.

There have been words with regards a new handset from his making hitting the market soon with the name Essential Phone. However, we have been in the dark with regards to this handset, its specifications and how it would look like when it finally goes official.


There are a few other bezel less handsets expected within the next few coming weeks and months, nonetheless, taking a close look at the handset in the add, we see that these other devices have some minor differences leaving us to believe that we might just be looking at the Essential phone

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is also expected within the next few months, but it has a display with all of its side being rounded. Another expected handset is the Mi Mix inspired Doogee Mix, but this handset is expected to sport a physical home button below the display.

The Essential phone is said to be a flagship handset and not too long ago, we saw a smartphone with the model number Essential FIH-PM1 get benchmarked over at the GFX bench. The results of this test shows us that the handset would be sporting a 5.5 inch Quad HD touchscreen display.


Ticking under the hood was a Snapdragon 835 processor that was bundled up with 4GB of RAM and 16GB ROM. There is a 12MP main camera on the back panel accompanied by an 8MP selfie snapper on the front panel.

Rubin currently runs a company called Essential products and we are sure that is where he would be launching this handset through. Since we are expecting this device this year, more news should come forth in the few coming weeks, so stay tuned.
