Last year, Xiaomi launched the first flagship smartphone under their Redmi series of devices dubbed the Xiaomi Redmi Pro which came with top notch specs that includes a dual-camera and a crispy OLED display. Now the well-known leakstar, @kjuma just revealed info that the successor to this device, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is already in the making.
Amongst the numerous news revealed, one that really struck us is the fact that the folks over at Xiaomi would be dropping the dual-camera implementation for this successor to be replaced by a single Sony IMX-362 sensor which has dual pixel auto-focus, 1.4µm pixels and a 1/2.55 inch sensor.
Whilst the Helio X25 powered the Xiaomi Redmi pro, the soon to launch Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 would be coming in with a Snapdragon 660 processor which is Qualcomm’s mid-range Chipset for 2017 succeeding the SD653 and SD652 used last year.
As per the size of the screen, we are still in the dark but even of the screen size changes we still believe it would retain the Full HD resolution its predecessor shipped off with. Another noticeable change is the battery pack which has been bumped up to 4500mAh from the 4050mAh the Redmi Pro went official with.
Two storage variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Pro would be made available seeing the difference between the two arising from the memory configuration seeing one ship off with 4GB of RAM and 64GB ROM whereas the other would feature 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM.
Whilst the 4GB RAM version would be asking for $232, the more beastly 6GB RAM variant would be priced at $262.
