Android Pay to Soon Land in Asia Hitting Singapore First

The Android Pay app is now on a collision course with Asia and its first victim is Singapore. The app had its launching in the US on the 2nd of September, 2015 and has been growing in supported State banks and now it Asia turn to enjoy this app.

If you’re residing in Singapore, today is your lucky day because this app is now at your door and fully functional. All you need to do is to download it from Google Play Store and add a supported debit or credit card.


The app works well with all NFC-enabled smartphone running KitKat or higher. At this moment for those in Singapore the app works with any MasterCard or Visa card from the following banks:

  • BS
  • OCBC
  • POSB
  • UOB
  • Standard Chartered

Many have already begun to make then thing easier as they have incorporated this app into their business. Stores like 7-11, Cold Storage, McDonalds, NTUC Fair-Price, Star Hub, Toast Box and Watsons all support the Android Pay.

But is this all that Android Pay has to offer. Some in the past have mistaken it with Google Wallet. They are similar but the same, Android Pay is better, more secure and convenient.


The Pay can do more than it seems, it can be used to store your Loyalty, Gift Card and another special offer of the like. Loyalty rewards can also be earned from the app and other reward programs.

This is not the end of the app, it was revealed that later in the year the app can also be used with airline apps to make travelling easier.
