Inviting criticism after releasing a 7-inch version of the Pixi 3 tablet only, Alcatel have now unveiled a 10-inch variant that supports 3G and will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

More hardware specs on the tablet are not confirmed as yet, but given how the 7 and 8 inch versions of the Pixi 3 are mid-range tablets, it is likely that the 10-incher will also be a mid-range device with a larger screen.

The Alcatel OneTouch Pixi First is another phone expected to be released in the near future, but it is better poised for developing markets.

Its main features include a moderately fast quad-core processor, 3G network support and a powerful battery that promises good backup times.

Other specs include a 4-inch display, a 5 megapixel rear shooter and a 2 megapixel front camera. The phone is a little on the thick side and the design is quite basic, which is understandable given the phone’s budget approach.

It is expected that more information about these devices, including prices and release dates, will be made available int he latter part of this year. While the Pixi First is likely to be launched in emerging markets only, we can expect other Alcatel devices to be launched globally.
