Graphic designers with Android phones and tablets haven’t had a lot of useful apps to work with, but that’s about to change with Adobe finally releasing four new apps for Android on the Play Store – Adobe Photoshop Mix, Adobe Shape CC, Adobe Brush CC and Adobe Color CC.
These aren’t stand-alone graphic designing apps but bring a lot of utility, especially if you’re a designer who wants to capture ideas from the real world on the go.
These apps are part of the Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) and free to download from the Play Store but can only be used if you are an Adobe Creative Cloud subscriber.
Adobe Photoshop Mix for Android
While its no replacement for the actual Photoshop software, Photoshop Mix for Android is good for some casual editing on the go. You can take photos, cut out certain parts of them and then mix them up with other photos to create your own fun images and share them socially. Your original images are saved separately, so even if you mess up, you can always have the original back.
Adobe Shape CC for Android
Adobe Shape CC is basically a support tool for people who work with vector graphics on Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. You can take a picture with your phone or tablet’s camera and then use Adobe Shape CC to convert it into a vector graphic very easily.
You can even add more detail, modify contrast and fill and refine the final shape before you save it as a vector image for use in your own designing material.
Adobe Brush CC for Android
If you’re a designer, you probably know the utility of using custom brushes in Photoshop and Illustrator. Just like Shape CC converts your own images into vector graphics, Adobe Brush CC converts them into brushes which you can save and later import into Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to create your own designs with.

This is another useful supplementary tool and we can image a lot of designers using it to create some stunning brushes from real world imagery.
Adobe Color CC for Android
Adobe Color CC is another great tool for graphic designers who know how hard it can be to find the perfect color to match something they saw in the real world. With Adobe Color CC however, you can simply take a picture of anything around you and the app will help you create a color palette which you can use with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
We can imagine a lot of designers going for Adobe Color CC to capture the perfect color they see on the go and then use it in their own designs.
