As latest reports would have it, Xiaomi has concluded with the release of two new handsets named Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite.
The Redmi Y1 handset highlights 16-megapixel front sensor tagged with a LED flash. The Redmi Y1 Lite, however, comes with a downgraded 5-megapixel camera in front.
Talking about price, the Redmi Y1 is priced at Rs. 8,999 for the 32GB storage/3GB RAM whilst the Redmi Y1 Lite is priced at Rs. 6,999 and bears 2GB RAM/16GB inbuilt storage.
The Redmi Y1 also comes with another 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, priced at Rs. 10,999. The smartphones are said to be made available in only on Amazon India, starting from November 8.
Jumping to specs, the Xiaomi Redmi bears a 16-megapixel front camera tagged with and LED selfie-light. It packs a fingerprint feature and is said to be offered in Gold and Dark Grey color options.
The handset supports dual-SIM, runs MIUI 9, features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display tagged with Corning Gorilla Glass for protection.
The handset is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 435 SoC, paired with 3GB of RAM speed whilst sporting a 13-megapixel camera clubbed with PDAF and dual-LED flash.
It offers 32GB of internal storage space that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE. Fitted with a 3080mAh battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 weighs 153 grams and measures 153×76.2×7.7mm.
In regards to the Redmi Y1 Lite, the handset packs a 5.5-inch HD screen, MIUI 9, and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor.
It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and tagged with LED flash and PDAF. At the front, it sports a 5-megapixel sensor. It houses a 3080mAh battery and features an IR blaster as well.
