Not too long ago, we saw the release of Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A mid-range handset that is already receiving o many commendations from users around the globe.
Now, Xiaomi is set to release the much-anticipated Redmi Note 5 handset, bearing a codename MET7 has seen on Chinese certification website TENAA.
Coming to specs, the handset is said to come with a 5.99-inch full-HD+ 2.5D curved glass display tagged with 18:9 aspect ratio, which is apparently the current trend of most flagship handsets.
According to the listing, the handset will be powered by an octa-core processor and is expected to be made available in in two options 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage.
As per chipset, one rumor is claiming that the handset will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600-series SoC. Also, the Redmi Note 5 device is said to run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The handset will bear an expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB) and support hybrid SIM slot.
In the camera department, the upcoming Redmi Note 5 will pack a 12-megapixel rear sensor and at the front area will bring a 5-megapixel camera.
The new listing also shows the Redmi Note 5 housing a 4000mAh battery which is slightly smaller than the 4100mAh battery that came with the Redmi Note 4.
What’s more, the smartphone is also expected to come with a fingerprint sensor around the back area of the device. Whilst sporting rounded corners, the handset measures 158.5×75.4x8mm and weighs roughly 180 grams.
