As latest reports would have it, Xiaomi has already sent out invites for a launch event that is due to take place today. The company which also dropped hints on social media also previously affirmed that the unveiling of the Redmi handset will be an Amazon exclusive one.
Now we just received confirmation from both Amazon and Redmi India who posted a confirmation on a tweet online.
Xiaomi is widely expected to unveil at least one of the Redmi 4 range of handsets that were launched in November, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4A. With the reiterated emphasis on both the 4 and A symbols in both Amazon India and Redmi India marketing, it appears as though the company will release the Redmi 4A in India.
The Redmi 4 device is priced at Rs. 6,900, while the Redmi 4A goes for Rs. 5,900.
To recall on the specs for the Redmi 4 handset, the device sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM. The device also features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel camera in front.
Also, the device comes with a 16GB of internal storage and houses a 4100mAh battery.
The cheaper version, which is the Redmi 4A does not come with a fingerprint sensor at the back and features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display, a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC, equipped with 2GB of RAM. The handset also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel sensor, a 16GB of built-in storage, and a 3120mAh battery.
