Going by latest reports, Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to release the second-generation Mi MIX handset at an event on September 11.
Interestingly, this upcoming launch from Xiaomi is just a before the launch of the widely anticipated iPhone 8 device which has been slated for September 12.
Expected to happen in Beijing, the Chinese company also revealed that the launch will be hosted at the University of Technology Gymnasium.
Compared to the Mi MIX that came with an edge-to-edge display tagged with 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, this new Mi MIX 2 will offer a solid 93 percent screen-to-body ratio.
While Xiaomi is still yet to reveal the pricing details of the Mi MIX 2 handset, we can all expect it to be slightly higher than the original.
Coming to specs, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s reputable Snapdragon 835 SoC.
The handset will also bear 6GB of RAM and pack a 6.4-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display. As per optics, the smartphone will come with a 13-megapixel front camera and at the back, a 19-megapixel sensor.
Going by preliminary leaks, it was said that Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 might see a launch in several versions including 4GB RAM with 128GB storage space, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage capacity, and 8GB RAM with a 256GB storage option.
Rumor has it that the 8GB RAM version will be a limited edition. The handset is also said to be fitted 4500mAh battery.
According to another report, the Mi MIX 2 may roll out with a 3D facial recognition which many saying could be one of the major highlights of the handset.
