After making it to several leaks online, Xiaomi has finally released the new Mi MIX 2 smartphone in China. The handset highlights a facial recognition feature, ceramic body, and a mammoth 5.99-inch bezel-less display panel, tagged with 18:9 aspect ratio.
As per price, the new Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 comes for sale at CNY 3,299 for its 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage model, while the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage version is seen sold at a price of CNY 3,599.
This leaves the 6GB RAM/ 256GB storage option with a price tag of CNY 3,999. Apart from that, the company also rolled out a special edition of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 device coupled with a full ceramic body, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage capacity at a price of CNY 4,699.
While registration for the handset is pegged for the 18th of September, first-time grabbers can purchase the handset on September 15.
Talking about specs, the dual-SIM Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, packs a 5.99-inch FHD (1080×2160 pixels) 18:9 display tagged with a pixel density of 403ppi.
Powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at a speed of 2.45GHz, the handset offers 6GB of RAM for the modular variant and 8GB RAM for the Special Edition.
In the camera department, the phone sports a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor coupled with a facial technology, 1.25-micron pixels, 4-axis optical image stabilization, 5-piece lens, a f/2.0 aperture. At the front area, the handset sports a 5-megapixel front camera with a facial recognition function.
It comes with connectivity options including 4G LTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB Type-C. The handset measures 150.5×74.6×7.7mm, weighs 187 grams and is backed by a 3400mAh battery.
Talking about sensors on board, the phone brings accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, an ultrasonic proximity sensor.
