Chinese OEM UMI is following the foot steps of the likes of Xiaomi and Huawei by churning up new devices every few months. The iteration for the company is tagged with the name UMi Plus E which would be an upgraded version of the earlier released UMI Plus handset which did quite well in the market when it went official some few months ago.
This though, isn’t much of a surprise as the folks over at UMi have in times past shown us that they are reliable when it comes to given users that type of handset they want.
The Plus E would come with a sharp-inspired 5.5 inch LTPS arced screen and right above the display is a 5 megapixel camera sensor which should be enough for all selfie needs. There is a 13MP main camera at the back from the Korean Giants Samsung, which is capable of PDAF.
Under the hood, the recently launched 16nm FinFET node produced Helio P20 processor which is running at speeds of 2.3GHz and it comes coupled up with a 900MHz Mali T-880 MP2 GPU. Also bundled up on the system on chip is 6GB of RAM and 64GB ROM which should be made expandable.
The UMi Plus E would get 4000mAh of battery juice from SONY which would be graced with PE+ Quick Charge that would charge your large battery faster within a short period of time. Also thrown into the mix is a Touch ID Fingerprint Scanner for obvious reasons.
All of these specification brings this device to an official price tag of $269.99 however it would be sold for $70 less during the presale period making it one of the cheapest smartphones available.
