TCL Communications at the sidelines of the MWC trade show reportedly revealed that two more BlackBerry-branded handsets will be launched before the end of this year. Separately, a new BlackBerry smartphone has also been leaked in images.
According to one report, the company plans to launch three BlackBerry phones this year. With the BlackBerry KEYone – the last smartphone produced and engineered by BlackBerry – already released at the MWC 2017 that took place last month, the company is looking to forward to launching the two other devices later this year.
Further, the report also reveals that TCL may likely unveil the successors to the DTEK 50 and DTEK 60 smartphones. The report also claims that TCL may abandon the DTEK branding for the upcoming handsets.
To recap, BlackBerry worked with TCL Communication for its DTEK50 and DTEK60 smartphone which is already available in several markets across the globe.
Separately, one report is claiming that BlackBerry’s Indonesia partner BB Merah Putih is currently working on a budget smartphone which has been spotted in new images. According to the patent, the new smartphone dubbed BBC100-1 manufactured by BB Merah Putih is expected to hit the Indonesian market.
The leaked images putatively show a touch screen mobile device with a textured back, and BlackBerry branding present on both the sides.
Based on preliminary leaks, the new BBC100-1 is said to feature a Snapdragon 425 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Also, the device will sport a 5.5-inch HD display and a 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone is also likely to pack a dual-SIM functionality and house a 3000mAh battery.
