CES 2017 kicked off in the beginning of this year and it played host to a lot of manufacturers taking up this platform to officially unveil their handsets. One of the OEMs to take advantage of this global platform was Asus who unveiled many handsets among which was Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom. As the name implies, this handset is aimed at providing the best camera experience for the users, thanks to the 3x optical zooming capability it shipped of with.
Whilst the Zenfone 3 Zoom is already official, there is news with regards to a new handset from the zoom series which will be dubbed the Asus Zenfone Zoom S. However, don’t get your hopes up just yet as an unknown source has it that the device will be exclusive to Malaysia.
The Zenfone Zoom S will be smaller than the 5.5-inch Zenfone 3 Zoom, nonetheless, it will still feature the same Snapdragon 625 processor powering its much larger sibling. Also bundled up on the system on chip will be 4GB of RAM and internal memory options of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB all of which will be expandable.
There is a mammoth 5000mAh battery pack fueling the handset whilst it runs the Android Marshmallow Operating system from the box, which we must confess is sort of a turn off for any handset launching out this 2017.
There is a 13 megapixel selfie snapper on the top upfront of the front panel for all selfies and video calling apps as well. This sensor accompanies a dual camera on the back panel comprising of two 12MP snappers.
