Earlier this month, Sony launched its new Sony Xperia XZ Premium and now the handset has gone on sale in India. The new smartphone is priced at Rs. 59,990 and can be purchased via Amazon India, Sony Centres, and select retail outlets throughout the country.
The handset was made available in two color options: Luminous Chrome currently and Deep Sea Black. Interestingly enough, with the arrival of Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium in India, it appears the company has finally proved OnePlus and Qualcomm’s claims of OnePlus 5 being the first device to offer Snapdragon 835 processor in India as false. The OnePlus 5 handset is rumored to be launched in India on June 22.
Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, the dual-SIM Sony handset supports both Nano-SIMs and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat.
The Xperia XZ Premium brings dust and water resistance with an IP65/68 rating. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back of the handset.
The device packs a 5.5-inch 4K (2160×3840 pixels) HDR Triluminos display with an sRGB 138 percent spectrum and the X-Reality for Mobile display panel technology.
It offers 64GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB). It brings connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (3.1), and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The handset is fitted with a 3230mAh non-removable battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It measures 156x77x7.9mm and weighs 191 grams.
