Sony Xperia X, Xperia X Compact Now Receiving Android 7.0 Nougat Update

Sometime in September, Sony reportedly revealed it plans to roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its high-end smartphones devices. Following that the Sony Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ automatically began to receive the update towards the end of November.

The company is now extending the rollout to its other smartphone models, including the Xperia X, Xperia X Dual, and Xperia X Compact. The update which is rolling out in an arranged manner in specific regions is also expected to widen in the days to come.

Sony who reportedly announced that its Xperia X and X Compact will start receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update in an arranged manner should expect the update notifications on their Xperia X devices as well. In another report, however, the Xperia X, Xperia X Dual, and Xperia Compact are all expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update with a build number to version 34.2.A.0.266 on each mobile device respectively.

Already, updates are reportedly rolling out in Australia, India, Latin America, Middle East, Russia, Turkey, Thailand and Vietnam and many others. The Android 7.0 Nougat update for Xperia X smartphone is 1276.7MB in size. With this update, the Android security patch degree is also expected to get upgraded to December 2016.

Sony Xperia XA Ultra

Additionally, Sony recently appropriated some of its smartphones like Xperia Z5 series, Xperia Z3+, and Xperia Z4 to receive the update around December – leaving its Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra, as the last batch of Xperia smartphones to receive the update due to happen in the first quarter of 2017.
