Going latest news, Samsung has reportedly been discovered to have sent out several invites for its ‘Unpacked’ event, where the South Korean tech giant plans to release the widely anticipated Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus handsets. The event is set to occur on March 29, and pre-orders for the handset will kick-off from the 10th of April.
Based on preliminary leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus device are expected to roll out in 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch displays, respectively. The devices are also expected to come along with 4GB RAM speed, 64GB of storage capacity and IP68 dust and water resistance feature.
The Galaxy S8 will sport a 12MP rear camera with Dual Pixel autofocus, and an 8MP camera in the front. The handset is also rumored to feature an iris scanner and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Other features include Samsung Pay and support for wireless charging.
Based on one repot, the South Korean tech giants may also include earphones by AKG, an Austrian audio manufacturer.
Separately, LG reportedly announced that its G6 handset with a 2K 18:9 display will support HDR video playback from streaming services including Amazon Prime Videos. Sony company, also announced that its Xperia XZ Premium handset will pack a 4K display and support HDR playback.
With all these top-end devices in sight, the South Korean company will most definitely have to up its game to make the Galaxy S8 lineup a huge success.
Additionally, Samsung will also need to take heed with the batteries that are expected to power the S8 smartphones and avoid a repetition of the disaster that happened with the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
