Sometime last week, OnePlus announced it was going to release a Lava Red Edition of its top-end handset in India. The company has finally fulfilled its promise as the handset was just unveiled today in India.
To recall, the handset was originally launched in China back in Last year November and we saw the device in Midnight Black and Star Wars edition.
This new variant of the OnePlus 5T model brings an 8GB RAM speed and internal memory of 128GB. As of now, the handset is slated to begin sale on the 20th of January. Priced at Rs.37,999 the phone can be purchased on Amazon.in and OnePlus’s Store.
Apart from the Red color that comes with the new OnePlus 5T, the smartphone is pretty much the same as the original OnePlus 5T in terms of specs and design.
Coming to specs, the handset supports dual-SIM and runs OxygenOS 4.7 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It packs a 6.01-inch full-HD+ (1080×1920 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display panel tagged with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 401ppi pixel density, and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It also supports sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts.
Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC, clocked at up to 2.45GHz, coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
In the camera department, the OnePlus 5T comes with a primary a 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 primary sensor clubbed with 1.12-micron pixels and an aperture of f/1.7 just like the one that came with the OnePlus 5.
Talking about connectivity options, the OnePlus 5T brings 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz, 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac with MIMO 2×2, Bluetooth v5.0 with aptX and aptX HD, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C (v2.0) port.
The device is backed by a 3300mAh non-removable battery, similar to what we saw on the OnePlus 5. The handset also supports a Dash Charge (5V, 4A) fast charging feature brought by the company. It weighs 162 grams and measures 156.1x75x7.3mm.
