Gionee has been quite for the better part of this year, however, they showed up recently to announce a new smartphone they are currently working on. The device was recently spotted over at the Chinese Certification site, TENAA and now the handset has finally gone official.
The device in question was tagged with the moniker Gionee S9 and this handset would come featuring a dual-camera implementation at the back and would be powered by MediaTek’s very own, Helio P10 SoC with a price tag of $365.
This device did create quite a fuzz before it was unveiled as it was the name on every the blogger’s headline but nonetheless, although it went through TENAA, we failed to have a full glimpse of what hardware sheet the device is believed to come equipped with..
The S9 comes in with a 2.5D curved glass protected 5.5-inch Full HD touchscreen panel which has a physical home button below it with two capacitive keys by its sides. On the top of the display, however, is a 13-megapixel front-facing camera whereas on the back panel, a 13MP + 5MP camera combination is present.
Along with the Helio P10 on the SoC, a Mali-T860 GPU is also featured as well as 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM which would be made expandable to an additional 128GB via the external microSD card slot made available.
The dual-camera smartphone would come equipped with 3000mAh of battery juice to keep it up and running for many hours and it should ship from the box with its very own InLife UI which would be based on the sweetness of the Android Marshmallow.
