Nokia licensee, HMD Global is gearing up to launch its brand-new flagship Android handset in India. Dubbed the Nokia 8, the device is expected to launch in India on the 26th of September.
As it is, the company has sent out invitation letters and many important dignitaries are expected to attend the event.
Needless to say that the Nokia 8 comes as an HMD’s first flagship device, some reviewers are claiming the handset can be compared to the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 and Apple’s iPhone 8 smartphones.
Going by one report, the handset is tipped to go on sale sometime in October and will be priced at EUR 599. Indian users, however, can expect the price of the handset to fall within the same range as the European market.
The handset highlights dual rear cameras that comprise of two 13-megapixel cameras tagged with RGB and monochrome sensors.
As per design, the Nokia 8 bears a unibody design that was made from 6000-series aluminum. Also, it saw a release in glossy Polished Copper and Polished Blue color options, including matte Tempered Blue and Steel finishes.
Coming to specs, the Nokia 8 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of an internal storage unit. Talking about the display, the Nokia 8 packs a 5.3-inch 2K LCD display coupled with Gorilla Glass 5 on top.
We are likely to see the handset come in a dual-SIM configuration, whilst packing support for microSD cards of up to 256GB capacity.
The handset is also said to be fitted with a 3090mAh battery and pack connectively options including a USB 3.1 Type-C and 3.5mm headphone jack.
