HTC looks not to waste any time in making the best out of this year as we saw them make official two new smartphones at the Consumer Electronic Show some few weeks back. The HTC U Ultra and the HTC U Play, were both amazing handsets but the Ultra have paved a way for HTC flagships as we saw it feature top notch specs that include a QHD screen accompanied by secondary display.
However, this phone went official with the Snapdragon 821 ticking under the hood, which although powerful, is not match for the recently released Snapdragon 835 processor which is meant to be powering majority of the flagship smartphones for this year.
This also points out the fact that HTC might be gearing up to launch a more powerful handset soon which should be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset. Nonetheless, this would mean that we wouldn’t be seeing such a handset till after April as all the SD835 SoCs currently available have been booked by the Korean Giant to power their Galaxy S8 phone.
More so, Mr. Chang, one of the top leaders in HTC dished out information that they would set up stand at the upcoming MWC 2017 but then they would not be releasing any flagship smartphone in this event. This only means that we should expect a flagship smartphone from this OEM during the second half of the year.
Until then, we hope that the HTC U Ultra is good enough to uphold the flagship baton till the folks over at HTC decides to launch another handset.
