New Android Game King of Thieves from Zeptolab Arrives on the Play Store

You probably know Zeptolab from the popular Cut the Rope series of games which were simple yet a lot of fun and had adorable art direction and design. The studio’s latest game is King of Thieves and it is now available for download on the Play Store.

The game was earlier released on Amazon’s App Store, and while it’s a free download, it has in-app purchases. It’s quite different from Cut the Rope and focuses on a PVP approach where players have to go through dungeons, avoid  traps and evade defenses to steal gold and gems.

If you want to practice on your own you can also play through the 80 single-player levels or connect to the server to find your match. The online element adds a lot more depth to King of Thieves but in our testing, the server connection was far from reliable.

The game also lets you design your own dungeon and its defenses to protect it from other players trying to steal your treasures. Your ultimate goal however will be to steal as much as you can to top the leaderboard and become the King of Thieves.

The game’s trailer above gives you some highlights and clearly shows that the art design is carried over from Cut the Rope. Nevertheless, the game seems fun in its own right and we’re excited to spend more time playing it online.

Awesome game. Terrible server connection management. At times in the day, the connection never holds for more than 2 minutes – barely time to spend your keys entering the level, beating it and loosing the connection before you have time to collect your coins. Ridiculous. Frustrating.

We’re sorry you are experiencing issues Dr. Watson. They do need to pay attention to their servers but then again, they’re probably under a lot of load. Hopefully things will get ironed out in the coming weeks!
