Earlier in June, Moto India revealed that the Moto X Play smartphone will be getting the Nougat OS update, but did not state the exact date.
If latest reports are anything to go by, then Google’s Android Nougat 7.1.1 update has started rolling out to users in the Brazil region. Apparently, the company did not reveal whether it will be bringing Android 7.0 Nougat or a higher version.
To refresh, the handset was released back in 2005 at a price of Rs. 18,499. Given the fact that the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update just rolled out to select users in Brazil, consumers all the way India will just have to be a little patient before the update hits their region.
As usual, if you are yet to receive a notification for the update, simply visit Settings > About Phone > System updates and check for availability. If you happen to find an update, download and install.
Last year December, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update was pushed out to select units and it came with the tag ‘’update to Nougat” by Google.
The update brings new emojis that projects gender equality and also comes with support for GIF images that works directly from a keyboard with compatible applications. We saw applications like Google Allo, Google Messenger, and Hangouts supporting GIF images for the first time.
Also, the new update offers app shortcuts which let a user launch actions on any app by simply pressing the app icon for long. Separately, the company began rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to its Moto Z Play handset.
