Moto G4 Play To Receive Android Nougat in June: Report

Moto G4 Play was released in India in last year’s September and is now expected to get the Android Nougat update in June, going by a new report.

The Moto G4 Play which was priced at Rs. 8,999, and currently being offered at Rs. 7,999 via Amazon India is also said to be the last member of the Moto G4 family to receive the Nougat update. To recap, s the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones received the Nougat update back in December.

The Nougat update for the Moto G4 Play was recently affirmed by one anonymous tipster who claimed that Moto G4 consumers are expected to start receiving the Android Nougat update in June.

The tipster also further suggested that it would be a global rollout, so Moto G4 Play users throughout the world can expect to get the update almost about the same time.

To recall, the Moto G4 Play was seen on running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. It packs a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC equipped with 2GB of RAM.

As per optics, the handset comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture and LED flash and a 5-megapixel sensor front-facing camera with display flash feature.

The Moto G4 Play handset sports 16GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It packs connectivity options including 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, and Micro-USB.

It houses a 2800mAh battery, measures 144.40×72.00×9.9mm and weighs 137 grams. For those in India, the handset can be purchased via Amazon and is available in Black and White color models.
