As news comes in thick and fast concerning Google’s proposed plan to ditch the Nexus for the new Pixel brand, several leaks continue to rave the internet. The Pixel brand will feature two devices: Pixel and Pixel XL, and it was earlier confirmed that both devices passed Geekbench listing.
Global Certification Forum (GCF) revealed that the devices will come in at least two versions- US (CDMA connectivity and slightly different LTE bands) and International versions.
The reason for this is to provide the variation in band support. However, it is no surprise that HTC will maintain their rights of manufacturer continuing from the past Nexus.
From the renders below, the Pixel is the one with the G-2PW2100 and G-2PW2200 names and the Pixel XL has the G-2Pw4100 and G-2PW4200.
As per the reports, both Pixel XL & Pixel have codenamed Marlin (evident on the motherboard) & Sailfish respectively.
The Pixel XL is the larger smartphone and is rumoured to be sporting a 5.5” QHD display, under its hood is a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 1.59 GHz coupled with a 4GB RAM + 32GB supported by an expandable storage of up to 128GB.
In terms of camera, it is speculated to carry a 12MP at the rear with an 8MP front-facing shooter.
Whilst the other device, Pixel is slightly lesser than the Pixel XL as it flaunts a smaller display, plastic body instead of metal and retails at an affordable price compared to the better version which is thought to be pricier.
Another feature for both devices is the Android 7.1 Nougat which comes with amazing characteristics and its standout option is the seamless software update.
Google is expected to make an announcement about the Pixel XL and Pixel come early next month. Pre-orders are also set to begin, yet it has not stopped the likes of Aliexpress selling TPU cases of the Pixel phones.
