It’s about time that we finally get our hands on the long-rumored Mi MIX device that was seen launching in the company’s home market.
Most of us would agree it’s only fair that users in the Indian region also get a taste of the handset that highlighted a 5.99-inch bezel-less display tagged with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
Moving on to specs, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 supports dual-SIM configuration and runs MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The handset brings a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) LCD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM.
In the camera department, the flagship offering brings a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 rear camera clubbed with 1.25-micron pixels, 4-axis optical image stabilization, 5-piece lens, a f/2.0 aperture and a facial recognition technology.
At the front area, the handset brings a 5-megapixel front camera, as well as a facial recognition feature that can be used to unlock the mobile device.
In terms of storage, the new Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 brings 128GB of memory space that unfortunately, cannot be expanded.
Talking about connectivity options, the handset brings 4G (support for 43 LTE bands), VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11c, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C.
It also comes with onboard sensors including accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and ultrasonic proximity sensor. The handset is fitted with a 3400mAh battery, measures 151.8×75.5×7.7mm, and weighs 185 grams.
Separately, the company touts the handset’s display panel claiming it brings a pixel density of 403ppi and is complete with DCI-P3 color gamut support.
