Xiaomi’s Mi Band is one of the company’s hottest products. The device, though not as sexy as most fitness trackers which is, in fact, one of its biggest selling points is acclaimed for its simplicity and battery longevity.
Due to its popularity and high demand, the second generation of the wearable was emptied from shelves just three months after its official launch.
Huami, the company responsible for the manufacture of the fitness band has hinted at increasing production two months ago to meet demand but stated concerns that due to the very high demand for the product, their increased production won’t be able to match.
And they were not wrong as the increased production of the Mi Band 2 hasn’t really matched the overwhelming demand of the fitness wearable.
The Mi Band still tops the charts of Xiaomi’s most wanted gadget with well over 37 million people still interested in the device meaning demand for the fitness band isn’t slowed down.
This isn’t all doom and gloom for those that want to get their hands on the fitness tracker.
Reacting to the chart-topping performance of the Mi Band 2 on Weibo, Huami’s CEO, Huang Wang stated that his company will be looking to double their efforts and increase productions of the device for the second time in as many months.
