Meitu Unveils Two New Smartphones — Meitu M8 and Upgraded Meitu T8

Meitu is probably an OEM you have not heard off, and no we are not talking about Meizu. This is an entirely different OEM who has even been around before the more popular Meizu. Meitu has been dishing out some selfie-centric smartphones but they are more centered on creating camera apps with quite a lot to their name.

However, this OEM like in times past have taken center stage yet again to wow us all with two new handsets dubbed the Meitu T8 (upgraded) and Meitu M8. Three months ago, this manufacturer took off the wraps from the Meitu T8, and now, they have made the device even better by adding to most of its features.

The Meitu T8 now has a new operating system and the AI assistant which it went official with has been upgraded. These are the only major updates made to this handset unless you consider adding a new Aurora Green color variant as being one.

The handset still comes powered by a Helio x20 processor coupled up with 4GB of RAM and 128GB ROM. The large 21MP Sony IMX338 sensor is retained alongside the 5.2 inch 2k touchscreen display which is kept up and running by a 3580mAh battery pack. This massive battery juice is even made battery with the addition of a 9V 2A fast charging technology for obvious purposes.

On the other hand, the Meitu M8 follows in the stead of almost all of its predecessors, taking the hexagon like shape and sporting an imaging unit that is nothing less than spectacular. For the selfie cam, the folks over at Meitu have fitted a dual-pixel Sony IMX-362 self-timer sensor above the crispy 5.2 inch Full HD touchscreen display.

Behind the phone, a 21MP Sony IMX 230 acts as the main camera sensor with two LED flashlights by both its sides. The same Helio X20 processor still makes an appearance on this same device, powering it alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB ROM. The handset runs the Android Marshmallow skinned MEIOS 3.6 OS from the box.

This handset has been placed at a price of $376, however, the OEM is still offering some other special edition variants of this device which include the Hello Kitten edition, customized edition and Pretty soldier edition all of which will set you back at $405, $420 and $435 respectively.
