Following an announcement from LG sometime last week, the company has finally released a new K-Series handset in India as promised.
While most of us were expecting LG to release the LG K3 (2017) and LG K4 (2017), surprisingly, the company appears to have unveiled a brand new handset instead – dubbed LG K7i.
The handset comes with one major highlight, which is its ‘Mosquito Away’ technology. Notably, the LG K7i packs a speaker that brings ultrasonic frequencies that the company claims can drive mosquitoes away.
The budget handset is priced at Rs. 7,990 and is expected to be available via retail outlets in the country.
As previously hinted, the Mosquito Away feature utilizes 30KHz ultrasonic sound waves that are known to drive away mosquitoes.
Going by one report, the handset has no “harmful chemicals”, and neither was it manufactured from chemicals as well. The technology works by enabling the speaker on the additional rear cover and it does not need any refills.
For best use, the device can be placed on a stand when the mosquito repellent feature is being activated.
Coming to specs, the LG K7i runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs a 5-inch OnCell display. The dual-SIM handset comes powered by an unspecified quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
As per optics, the LG K7i bears an 8-megapixel rear camera, and at the front sports 5-megapixel camera. It offers 16GB of internal storage with an option to expand via microSD card.
The device sports connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB, FM radio, and 3.5mm audio jack. It houses a 2500mAh battery, measures 144.7×72.6×8.1mm, and weighs 138 grams.
