LG’s G6 flagship handset has now being unveiled in India and pre-bookings for the handset have already begun. The smartphone was launched at a starting price of Rs. 51,990 (MOP) and can now be purchased via online platforms.
LG’s G6 handset went on sale last week and seems to be doing well, as the company’s flagship, got a good head start ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy S8 that just went on sale, few days ago.
Both flagships feature a near bezel-less design with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The LG G6 bears a fingerprint scanner on the back, right beneath the dual camera setup. The device is also said to be the first handset that supports Dolby Vision.
The LG G6 was launched at the MWC 2017 event in February, and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of box. It comes with a 5.7-inch QHD+ (1440×2880 pixels) FullVision display and with a near bezel-less front with an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio.
Powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, the LG G6 device will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage options, with support for expandability up to 2TB via microSD card.
As per optics, the LG G6 bears a dual-camera setup on the back with two 13-megapixel sensors and a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and 100-degree lens.
It packs connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0. Fitted with a non-removable 3300mAh battery, the device measures 148.9×71.9×7.9mm and weighs in at 163 grams. It will be offered in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White color variants.
