LG Expected To Launch The G5 Alongside New Handsets In An All-new X Sub-brand at MWC 2016

LG is taking its fight with Samsung very seriously and it would seem the company wants to attack their Korean counterpart in all fronts. The  OEM is currently gearing up to releasing its LG G5 which has been teased several times to be a direct competitor to Samsung’s upcoming S7 series. Though this will be a flagship phone packed with high-end features and specs, the company is also planning on launching the entry-level X series.

LG is apparently tagging its X variant as“Specialist” phones because each device will concentrate on a single area for optimal performance.

Two LG X series phones

Two of the first phones in the X line-up are the X-Cam and the X Screen.



The aforementioned variant is especially targeted at the camera-centric folks The former sports a  main camera  of 13MP with a 5MP upfront.It comes with a 5.2-inch display with 1920 X 1080P with an unknown  1.14GHz Octa-Core processor a coupled with a 2GB of RAM (pushing all the pixels) and 16GB of internal storage. The power source is a 2,520mAh battery and we will have Marshmallow 6.0 onboard.

The phone will be available in four different color variants of white, silver, gold and ping gold.


This device is going to feature LG’s dual screen set-up where the first main screen is going to measure at the 4.93-inch screen and the secondary screen will feature a 1.76-inch screen plus the “always on” feature that the company has been teasing and it is expected to be a trend in their upcoming devices.

The selling point for this device is its secondary screen which is located at the top of the primary display and allows the user to control music playback, answer calls, view notifications among other things and even when the main screen is turn off. This feature was first seen on the LG V10, and was quite welcomed – and it’s most certainly a delight to see on a device of this calibre.Other specifications include  2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, the device will be powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor and will sport a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter.

The handset will ship three color options of Black, White, and ping Gold with the Marshmallow 6.0.
