As latest reports would have it, Google has affirmed that it is currently working on the successors of the Pixel and Pixel XL handsets with the codenames – Muskie and Walleye. Following that, a fresh report is also claiming that the California-based search giants seem to be working on a third device as well.
The device is rumoured to be much larger than the other two and is codenamed Taimen.
According to another report, the handset codenamed, Taimen is a large-display device that is due to also launch alongside the other two handsets before the year runs out.
According to one report, there is a very high tendency that this Taimen device, might be an actual phone, contrary to another report that claims that the said device could as well be a tablet.
One report even suggested that the device could be a larger Pixel-branded smartphone.
As per the Muskie and Walleye devices, they are rumoured to be the codenames of the successors of the Pixel smartphones. Walleye is the name given to the base variant (Pixel 2), while Muskie is appropriated to the larger model (Pixel XL 2).
Based on preliminary leaks, the Pixel 2 may come with an enhanced camera, a better processor, and water and dust resistant feature.
While this might sound like the kind of news that Google consumers might find quite exciting, the truth, however, remains that Google is still yet to shed more details as to whether or not is it planning to release a third handset. So we strongly advise that you take this piece of information with a pinch of salt.
