Following the unveiling of the Cat S60 rugged handset at the MWC 2016 event, the smartphone is now reportedly been launched in India. The device is sold a price of Rs. 64,999, via top-end multi-brand retail outlets including Amazon India.
As per specs, the dual-SIM Cat S60 handset runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and features a 4.7-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. Powered by a Snapdragon 617 SoC.
The Cat S60 smartphone also comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera that has underwater capabilities and dual-LED flash. In the front area, the handset comes with a 5-megapixel camera. The handset also comes with a 32GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
As per connectivity options, the handset packs 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, Micro-USB with OTG, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Apparently, the company’s global site doesn’t offer TDD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 4), only the FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) technology, which automatically means that the handset supports only one of the primary 4G LTE bands used by GSM operators in India.
