Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe Starts Receiving Android 7.0 Nougat Update

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus has commenced with the rolling out of Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat update to its ZenFone 3 Deluxe handset.

The company which reportedly affirmed the update on its ZenTalk forum, also disclosed that it will take up to a week before the update reaches all Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe users.

For users that are still yet to receive the update notifications, can manually check for it on ZenFone 3 Deluxe via Settings > About > System Update.

According to reports, the update was discovered to have removed several preloaded applications including Audio Wizard, Share Link, Splendid, Flashlight and System update. Users can, however, still make use of the Audio Wizard, Splendid, System update, and Flashlight applications via system settings.

What’s more, the new update also removes PC Suite feature alongside ShakeShake from ZenMotion. According to one report, some of the other preloaded applications that will be removed after the Nougat updates hit the handset include Bubbles, Black Hole, Holo Spiral, and Phase Beam live wallpapers.

To recap, the smartphone came with a 5.7-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display and coupled with 6GB of RAM speed. Featuring an expandable storage up to 128B via microSD card, the device also packs a rear camera that sports a 23-megapixel Sony sensor with 4K video support and an 8-megapixel in front.


Running on Asus Zen UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the device also houses a 3000mAh battery and measures 156.4×77.4×7.5mm. The main highlight of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe handset is the Snapdragon 821 SoC as well as the whopping 256GB of internal storage.
